Francesco Bruno Angilletta

Francesco Bruno Angilletta
23 Mar 1895 - 21 Jan 1989

Thinking about my Nonno Bruno today as it marks the 23rd year anniversary of his death.

Nonno was born 23 Mar 1895 to Rocco and Maria Andrianò of Ardore. He was one of nine children. He served and survived both both World Wars but was injured in WW1. In about 1918 he married Domenica Caterina Fuda, his older brother's widow who perished in WW1 as was the custom in Italy during that time. Together they had six children and numerous grandchildren - all who adored him and many, including myself, who were present to see him celebrate his 93rd birthday.

Nonno died 10 months later from natural causes on a Saturday afternoon about 2:30 pm (8:30 pm in Italy) in Locri where he is buried with Domenica and many of his family. There is an error on his tombstone placing his birth at 1885 which I hopefully will be able to correct one day.

Rest in Peace Nonno - I miss you.
